Wedding FAQs
What should I wear?
Dress Code is formal attire,
We're hoping mostly suits and dresses, but are happy with the smarter side of smart casual as long as no jeans or tracksuits.
Dress to impress, but be comfortable!
(Smart Trainers are acceptable)
If you are in the bridal party and have any questions about what to wear, please get in touch!
Can I bring a plus-one?
Due to restricted numbers we are unfortunately not able to accommodate plus ones, unless we have invited you as a couple. If you have any questions, please get in touch
What time should I arrive?
Our ceremony begins at 2pm sharp.
Please try to arrive around 30 minutes beforehand.
If you are an evening guest there will be a comfort break between 6:30 and 7:15pm which is the best time to arrive.
If you are planning on staying in the area the night before, please let us know so we can welcome you properly!
Can I take photos?
We absolutely encourage photos! But we ask for a phone free ceremony.
We do however want to capture as much of the day as possible and while our photographer is great - he can't get everything! We just ask that you don't get in his way during the big moments! Other than the ceremony, the whole day is fair game.
During the first cocktail break we ask that you stay in the lounge area as much as posible as our official photos and group shots will be in this time.
We have also set up a Photo Circle code to help us share photos, you can download that by scanning the QR code below.
What about Social Media?
Feel free to post pictures of yourselves, your family, friends and members of your table. We do ask that you refrain from posting any pictures of the Bride and Groom until they do themselves!
When posting, please use the hashtag: #truscottdicks so we can find all your lovely shots, or email your best ones to truscottdicks@gmail.com
Also our flower boy, (the groom's nephew) is not on social media, we kindly ask that any photos with him in are not posted online or he is blurred or covered in them. (Ask the best man if you aren't sure)
What is the bar situation?
A certain amount of drinks have been paid for, there will be drinks after the ceremony, during the meal and for toasts, the rest is up to you guys! There will be a bar in the room and the main bar just down the corridor.
We have a selection of bespoke cocktails and mocktails available on the day, only available from the in-room bar.
If you wish to be particularly generous you may put money behind the bar!
Will there be food after the meal?
Short answer - Yes!
We will have a hot and cold buffet with numerous dietary options as well as our wonderful cake baked by the Bride's cousin Jade.
The hotel's bar and restaurant will be open down the corridor if additional food is required and there are multiple fast food options a short drive or taxi away if needed!
